Keeping USC’s data and information secure is a responsibility for all of us. Due to the prevalence of ransomware incidents, USC is now requiring all faculty, students, staff, student workers, affiliates, alumni, and any other person who uses USC’s systems to use a two-factor authentication (2FA) system.
The 2FA system we use at USC is called Duo2FA, and it provides an extra level of security when you log in to USC’s systems.
If you do not currently use Duo2FA when logging in to USC’s system, you will be required to sign up for Duo2FA. Refer to itservices.usc.edu/duo/registering for instructions on how to install Duo2FA on your devices. For frequently asked questions about Duo2FA, refer to itservices.usc.edu/duofaq.
If you do not take any action before that date listed below for your group, you will be locked out of your system and will need to follow the steps that will appear when you log in to enroll in Duo2FA.
Deadlines to enroll:
- USC faculty and staff: By 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 13
- USC iVIPs (contractors and consultants): By 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6
- USC alumni and emeriti: By 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20
- USC students: By 5 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 20
If you already use Duo2FA to access USC’s systems, you do not need to take any action.
