The HR Service Center team provides prompt, accurate and thorough help on all employment-related matters for faculty, staff and student workers. The Center is committed to outstanding customer service and will shepherd employees through each question or problem until it is fully resolved.

Meet the team:

Margie-ChristMargie Christ
Senior HR Business Partner

In addition to acting as an HR Business Partner helping employees, Margie orchestrates the HR Service Center team to ensure excellent service, and coordinates logistics including staffing and resources. She joined USC in 2013 after serving as HR Director of a California community bank, and has served in senior HR roles in a number of other financial services businesses. Margie is a Pasadena resident and is active in the community.



Jocelyn Brambila
HR Business Partner

Before joining USC in 2013, Jocelyn served as an HR Senior Generalist and supervisor in the retail industry. Jocelyn earned a bachelor’s degree in business management in HR from CSUN.




Humberto-Hernandez-(2)Humberto Hernandez
HR Business Partner

Humberto joined USC in 2013 after 12 years at UCLA where he served in a number of positions including HR Manager. He holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from UCLA, a master’s degree in public administration with an emphasis in leadership and management from CSUN, and a certificate in human resources management from UCLA.



Karen Levy
HR Business Partner

Karen joined USC in 2013 after a 13-year career in the financial services industry holding a number of positions including Senior HR Generalist and HR Manager. Karen is a member of both Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) and Professional in Human Resources Association (PIHRA), and holds a current Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute.

Megan joined USC in 2014 after working in HR in the retail industry where she had experience using Workday (USC’s latest HR system). Megan holds a bachelor’s degree in Management and Human Resources from Cal Poly Pomona. She has a twin sister and loves to explore her culinary skills at home.

HR Business Partner

Wendy joined USC in 2010 as a Recruiter for Auxiliary Services. Prior to that she provided HR support for two major grand opening projects in Las Vegas—the Venetian/Palazzo and Trump Hotel. Wendy loves the Lakers and is an avid boxing fan.

Valerie is the USC veteran of the Center; a 1984 graduate with more than 25 years of experience, including a 13-year tenure with Benefits Administration and a stint as Business Analyst for the USC Workday implementation. Valerie enjoys using her analytical mind by day at work, and her creative mind by night at home, writing poetry and a blog.
