Toastmasters relaunches at USC

Toastmasters is returning to USC this fall in a hybrid format! The internationally recognized program, which was launched at USC in 2018 and was on hiatus following the COVID-19 pandemic, offers faculty and staff a structured and supportive space to practice public speaking, enhance leadership skills, and grow professionally.

With 11 specialized learning paths and hands-on leadership opportunities, Toastmasters helps faculty and staff become more confident speakers and effective communicators. By getting involved, participants can improve their presentations, sharpen impromptu speaking skills, and expand their professional network.

The first cohort of “Tommy Talkers,” Toastmasters’ twice-yearly cohorts, starts on Oct. 3, 2025, with meetings taking place every week at UPC (location TBD) and online, in a hybrid format.

To enroll, email contact-tommytalkers-l@maillist.usc.edu, and you can learn more at the Toastmasters page on the Employee Gateway.

Note: The standard Toastmasters membership fee is approximately $60 every six months, plus a one-time $20 new member fee.
