Our Trojan Veterans: Wendi Rodney

Wendi Rodney

Wendi Rodney joined the U.S. Air Force in 1986, finding herself stationed at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado Springs where she took on the responsibility of learning how to cook assorted pastries. “The most memorable experience from my service is when no one showed to assist in cooking in the mess hall and I had to prepare all the pastries by myself. My pastries were a hit and the TSGT stated that it was the first time that the majority of the pastries were gone,” Wendi notes.

The most challenging aspect of being in the service, according to Wendi, was finding a way within yourself to learn how to be disciplined. “Many cannot do that and have a hard time taking orders,” she notes.

Wendi says she takes the same level of pride in any work she does, especially as a Central Advancement Gifts Specialist at USC, to ensure that any company or organization who hires her is glad they did! (But what we want to know is – how about baking up some of those pastries, Wendi?!)

Wendi is proud to work for USC, and USC is proud Wendi is a part of the Trojan family!
