New Information Security Policies

USC-June-Secure

ITS’ Office of Chief Information Security Officer (OCISO) recently issued three Information Security Policies, effective June 30, 2021.

These policies set the expectation for employees, faculty, and students to keep information safe and were designed in collaboration with faculty, staff, leadership, and groups such as the University Technology Council, Academic Senate, and others.

The new policies are:

Endpoint Security – Protect removable media such as flash drives, memory cards, external hard drives, optical discs, and smartphones.

SentinelOne Endpoint Security Software – This policy calls for all staff, students, and faculty to download SentinelOne Endpoint Security Software by going here to download your free version.

Security Incident Response – USC’s Security Incident Response Policy describes security incidents, such as phishing, which have the potential to compromise the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of information assets. Report potential and suspected security incidents to security@usc.edu.
