AAPI Heritage Month celebrations begin April 1

USC will kick off the annual celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month with a special event you won’t want to miss on Friday, April 1. Our Unifying Value of diversity, equity, and inclusion will take centerstage during the in-person event featuring remarks from President Folt, energetic performances, and fun activities. Since graduation and commencement are in May, AAPI Heritage Month is observed one month early at USC so that students have the opportunity to participate in the festivities.

AAPI Heritage Month dates back to 1977 and pays tribute to the generations of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans who have been an integral part of U.S. history, culture, and achievements. It’s also a time to acknowledge the challenges faced by them, and with the rise in anti-AAPI hate during the pandemic, it is especially important now more than ever to come together in solidarity with all of our AAPI communities. Refer to the full list of events for more ways to get involved over the coming weeks.
