Please read this important announcement from USC Transportation:
The Ginsburg Hall construction fence is scheduled to go up on Monday, Nov. 1. From that date, Lot 6 will be permanently closed and unavailable for parking.
Although the Lot 6 short-term parking area is now being developed, a new pay-by-plate short-term parking option is available in Lot V, behind the Ostrow School of Dentistry (enter and exit from Jefferson Boulevard., east of McClintock Avenue).
The Ginsburg Hall construction fence layout (below) will keep the campus entrance at Downey Way from Vermont Avenue open (including the pedestrian gate on the south side of the entrance), but the exit side will be closed, to be used for construction vehicle use only. Effective Monday, Nov. 8, the Downey Way entrance booth will remain in service, although it will close at 6 p.m. instead of 9 p.m. weekdays.
With the Downey Way exit closed for construction vehicle use, all traffic exiting the Downey Structure, from either the north or the east driveway, will be required to use McClintock Avenue to exit campus.
To accommodate additional traffic, the Watt Way entrance booth will be staffed until 9 p.m., Monday-Friday, and the exit gate will remain open until 11 p.m. weekdays, while the McClintock Avenue entrance and exit will remain open 24/7. As a reminder, the Watt Way exit gate opens automatically as you approach it during the hours it is closed – please use extra caution and approach it slowly, as the gate swings inward.
