Spring museum fun, both on and (just) off campus

Community-based art and underwater virtual reality – all options this spring for USC employees.

Just across the street from UPC… swim alongside manta rays, explore a sunken ship and see glow in the dark fish – in virtual reality! USC employees get a discount to the Natural History Museum’s special exhibit, theBlu: An Underwater VR Experience. Tickets are $8 for employees when you show your USC ID at the door, and $10 for the public (entrance to just the museum is free to employees, as always). The exhibit runs until April 28. For more information, visit the NHM site.

And… The spring Fisher Museum of Art exhibit is all about the community, partnering with the non-profit Art Division which is dedicated to supporting underserved youth studying visual arts. Here’s a taste of the art by local students and the community mural, open through April 8:

In addition and in collaboration with the Mexican Consulate of Los Angeles, Fisher will feature MONARTlaBestia, a project exploring immigration reform through art and poetry and inspiring the young artists of Art Division. For more information, visit the Fisher site.

Fisher hours are Tuesday-Friday, 12-5pm and Saturday 12-4pm. Entrance is free!
