Are you one of the 600?
“The 300” were Spartans, not Trojans, who fought in the Battle of Thermopylae (remember that cool movie back in 2006?). But 600 Trojans are getting a chance to help USC in this year’s Great Colleges to Work For program.
The program, sponsored by the Chronicle of Higher Education, recognizes institutions that provide outstanding workplaces. We have been recognized as a “great place to work” every year since the program’s inception. But perhaps even more importantly, according to USC’s chief human resources officer, Janis McEldowney, “The data collected during the program is valuable to help us see how we compare with our peer institutions, and provides insight regarding our organizational strengths as well as opportunities for improvement.” Part of the review process involves distributing a survey to select faculty and staff; 600 will be randomly chosen to participate.
To ensure confidentiality, ModernThink LLC, a research and consulting firm focusing on workplace excellence, processes all survey responses; USC cannot trace responses back to survey participants. If you are selected to respond to this survey, it’s important to take a few minutes to answer the questions. A high response rate helps ensure accurate results, and honest feedback is crucial.
Note that if you are one of the 600, you received an email between March 11-13 from “Great Colleges” (firstname.lastname@example.org) with the subject line “The Chronicle’s Great Colleges to Work For 2017 Faculty/Staff Survey Invitation.” This email provides a link to the survey, which must be completed by Friday, April 7.
Whether you receive a survey invitation this year or not, you can read more about USC’s participation in the Great Colleges program at our YourVoice website.
